it's all go, go, go!

with fresh japan air in our lungs and in our hearts, we decided to tempt fate one more time, and go to an even bigger electronic district called akiharbara. it blew the other place out of the water. lots of crazy sprukers dressed up in costumes, yellling as loud as possible. i found myself a brand new girlfriend, who is pictured with me below (sorry lisey). caved into the pressure, and bought myself an ipod nano which is smaller than a playing card. hopefully i won't inhale it by mistake. had another brain meltdown from overstimulation, so we decided to get out, and go and be the australian wiggles again. trying to find our way back by bikes was more difficult than we thought, and nearly two hours later we'd found our way to the shopping centre.
when we arrived, there was an interesting dancing man dressed as an apple which amused me so much. we experienced a japanese supermarket trying to buy ingredients for burritos. hmmmm, maybe not to smart, but we managed okay. the japanese supermarket products are so cute and interesting. i wanted to buy everything, but our budget and carrying power didn't let me. cooked dinner for our hosts, and kicked back, exhausted with a few beers. i could get used to this life.
woke early again the next day and we went to a museum in town to look at an important japanese history exhibit. really interesting stuff, small models of how the japanese used to live, and lots about printing techniques. i found a great insult from back in the 1600s. if the commoners didn't like the samuri, they would say that the blue satin lining of their jacket, was out-of-style. ouch. the museum was in close proximity to the sumo stadium, and lucky for us, one of the only two tournaments held in japan this year, was on! yesssss! drunk delicious beer (again) and watched large men slap each other around. excellent stuff. stayed for about four hours, and towards the end, we upgraded ourselves to some premium seats (sneaky) and ended up drinking saki with drunk businessmen, throwing cushions, and eating some more delicious japanese treats. i love sumo so much, must try to get a league going when i get back to australia. so get eating people...

say chesu. i picked up a new posing technique, and now i'm going to use it all the time.

me and nj kicking it akihabara style.

thinking about starting a japanese bike gang, i'll get some tough jackets made up.

beautiful steps that led to a waterfall in the middle of the city. only in japan.
